Group of 5 in the AP Top 25

Undefeated SMU (8-0) leads six Group of 5 football teams in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

The No. 15 Mustangs are in first place in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) West division and have the inside track to the Group of 5’s automatic bid to the Cotton Bowl.

The highest ranked conference champion out of the Group of 5 schools will play in the Cotton Bowl against a Power 5 opponent at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on December 28th.

No. 15 SMU will travel to take on No. 24 Memphis (7-1) in a pivotal AAC West clash this Saturday (11/2).
