Raptors Draft Malachi Flynn In First Round

After an All-American season at San Diego State, guard Malachi Flynn was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 29th selection of the First Round in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Flynn joins Michael Cage (14th pick, 1984) and Kawhi Leonard (15th pick, 2011) as the only Aztecs selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.

Cage had a very successful 15 year NBA career. He led the NBA in rebounding in 1988.

10 years into his NBA career, Kawhi Leonard has established himself as one of the best players in the world. The two-time NBA Finals MVP is putting together a Hall of Fame worthy career.

Malachi Flynn joins a Raptors team that lost to the Boston Celtics in 7 games in the 2020 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Kawhi Leonard led Toronto to a 2019 NBA Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors. It was the first NBA title in franchise history (Founded 1995).
