DJ Takes Home First Green Jacket
Dustin Johnson put on a show this week during the final major championship of the 2020 season, firing a 20-under 268 and besting the tournament record of 270 held by Tiger Woods (1997) and Jordan Spieth (2015).
The victory adds another mark to an already impressive career for Johnson. On the heels of his 2020 FedEx Cup championship, the Masters is his second major title to go along with his 2016 U.S. Open triumph. It is his 24th career win on tour.
It is hard not to feel for the guy. During his post-round interview he could hardly find the words to describe what winning the Masters meant to him.
Certainly one of the best golfers of his generation, Johnson has consistently been near the top of the leaderboard in major tournaments but has struggled to come away with wins. He has 20 Top-10 finishes in majors. At just 36, he should still be able compete with the best golfers for another decade and add a few more major trophies to the mix.
